Like the previous year, my memories have again gone back to the YUVRAJ SINGH in the past 1 year, which has been a roller-coaster ride of emotions both for you and us (your fans)
Firstly, I heartily congratulate you for finding your soul mate and getting engaged to her. I wish Hazel bhabi ji and you to be the happiest couple ever. It was a severe heartbreak to all your fan girls but I think they too are wishing you both a happy life ahead.
Like the last year (or even in a better way) you re-created the records in the IPL auction. How does it feel to break your own record ? Well, it must be the best feeling on the earth. Congratulations for again being coroneted as the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER with a whopping amount of 16 crore rupees.
Playing a role of an angel is not new to you. You’ve done it a lot of times while rescuing Team India from critical situations in the matches. But, being an angel off the field must be special to you. Congratulations for turning into an Angel Investor through the YouWecan ventures. I wish you to be the catalyst for a lot of thoughts which strengthen the nation in multiple ways.
Looking at your professional career, it has been a fine journey than the previous years.
The 2014/15 Ranji season has been the best ever in your entire career with you scoring 671 runs from 7 matches at an average of 55.91
You also scored your career best score in a Ranji Trophy match (182 vs Saurashtra) However, you improved it by scoring 187 this season
From December 7, 2014 to November 25, 2015 you scored 1008 runs in the Ranji trophy from 21 innings averaging 48 runs per match.
You also played a crucial role in taking the Punjab team to the finals of the Vijay Hazare trophy in 2014/15.
You also scored IPL fifties against the Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians - a milestone which you were yet to achieve against both these teams.
There weren't big scores from you in the IPL but, one must admit that 5 of your innings in this edition have ended because of some spectacular catches.
You’ve also completed 8,000 first class runs, 23,000 senior level cricket runs and 3,500 runs for the Punjab team in the Ranji Trophy and 11,500 runs in the List-A cricket.
Apart from these numbers, you have also attained better fitness levels with your consistent sweating out in the gym. Everybody is glad to see you much fitter than in the past.
This year has been too heavy on the emotional front too. After 1999, this has been your first birthday without playing an international match for India. I can imagine how hard this is for you. You’ve also missed the ODI cricket world cup 2015 – whose previous edition India won because of your heroics. But, one must admit that there are a lot of situations where the team and the fans missed you terribly.
The sudden goodbyes of your closest friends Zaheer Khan and Virender Sehwag to the international cricket must also have made you emotional.
These are those testing times where one does not get the proper results despite working very hard. I don’t know what exactly the almighty tests us for but we must keep on trying. In your words, NEVER GIVE UP !!! I’ve seen this same kind of testing time in the life of my favorite actor Salman Khan (from 2002 to 2009) During that phase, despite working very hard, things weren’t clicking big to him. He still kept working very hard like you’re doing now. Once that tough phase ended, he has re-defined himself to the world. From this experience, I can say that you’ve a lot left to achieve as a cricketer on the other side of this testing time.
